As a child I was always very active, always wanting to be outdoors, and looked forward to do any activity whether it was physical labor or sports. At a young age I was introduced to many sports: basketball, baseball, football, swimming, golf, hunting, and motocross. Once I started riding motocross I knew right from that point on that I loved this feeling of adrenaline and excitement. That feeling is something that stuck with me all throughout my life since age 9 when I started riding dirtbikes. The internal drive I have now is a result of many years of being presented with challenges, physically and mentally. Being a motocross racer brings high demands physically and mentally, and I developed my own personal ways to achieve goals and feelings I had personally desired.
When it was time for me to graduate high school in 2006 it was time to take next step in life I didn’t want to take the normal path of college or going straight to work. I wanted a physically demanding job, so I enlisted into the United States Army and was shipped out to boot camp 6 days after graduating. As everyone was going to there senior trip destination, I was going to start my life after high school, why wait? My time in the service was remarkable and exciting to say the least. I accepted each challenge, got broke down to where I felt like dirt, had no sense of emotion, and just took it one day at a time. I knew that if I wanted to be successful it was all up to me. During my time of service, I was able to achieve many goals, I was advanced to the rank of E-3 or PFC (Private First Class) before I started basic training because of fitness levels and skills. Shortly after being active duty I was promoted to E-4 Corporal in just 12 months. In 2008 things we’re going good until I started to feel weak. In March of 2008 I lost 10lbs in almost a month, loss of energy, swelling and sever pain of my major joints, and foods I use to eat I could no longer digest. After 6 months of testing and hospital visits, a colonoscopy and endoscopy gave evidence to doctors that I had developed Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns Disease. From that point on life had changed, some may think for the worse, but I think it was for the better. This change gave me no other choice but to clean up my eating habits and live as healthy as I could to avoid any flare ups and depending on medication to keep me going, I refused to go that route. This didn’t happen over night and it took at least 2 years to develop a healthy routine and lifestyle that worked for me.
I was 21, medically retired from the US Army in Sept. 2009, and very fortunate to have the GI Bill so that I could now further my education. I knew that exercise and healthy living was always apart of my life, and now I have even more of a drive to find out what real exercise and healthy living is all about. I was able to complete 2 years of general education and kinesiology courses at Penn State Dubois. I then had an opportunity to attend the National Personal Training Institute of Orlando FL where I was able to study the theory and practical hands on training of how to perform correct exercise for general population and athletes. At the NPTI I studied the National Academy of Sports Medicine’s OPT (Optimum Performance Training) Model. Now I am a certified NASM personal trainer with an NPTI diploma. While I was attending school I was able to take extra course and still continuing to learn more to this day. I am also certified as a Fitness Nutrition Specialist, Suspension Trainer, and founder of physical training company – Physical Industry Training. I established this company to help train and guide people to accomplishing their own personal desires, physically and mentally. Once they feel the qualities and amazing power of the human body, it all cycles back into motivation, this is what keeps us all going, and gives us a reason to get out of bed, and live life. Once realizing and understanding the various and true principles that can be applied to exercise, I enjoy looking forward to each day, and accomplishing the tasks that will lead to my personal vision of a good life.
