FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Questions Are
Part of Starting.

You do not need to know exactly which program, coach, or training option is right before you walk through the door. Start with the question. We’ll help with the next step.

GETTING STARTED

Start Where You Are.

The first step should feel clear, not intimidating. These are the questions we hear most often before someone ever walks through the door.

01 Before Your First Visit

Absolutely. You do not need prior gym experience to start. Coaching is there to help you understand the movement, the equipment, the pace of the session, and what is expected from you.

We would rather you ask questions and learn the right way than feel like you are supposed to already know everything. The starting point is simply where you are today.

No. P.I.T. works with athletes, complete beginners, adults, older adults, and people who simply want to feel stronger and more capable in everyday life.

The goal may be performance, confidence, pain-free movement, longevity, or just finally building a consistent routine. Coaching changes around the person—not the other way around.

Start by telling us what you are trying to accomplish, what your schedule looks like, and what kind of training experience you have had before.

From there we can help determine whether personal training, group training, open gym, a specialized program, or a combination of options makes the most sense for you.

No. You do not need to research every coach and make that decision on your own. Start with your goals, preferences, schedule, and what you want help with.

We can help point you toward the coach and training format that makes the most sense. If you already have a coach preference, you can absolutely tell us that too.

Yes. Sometimes seeing the space and talking to someone in person is the easiest way to understand how P.I.T. works.

Reach out before stopping in so we can help you choose a good time to visit, show you the facility, and answer questions without you feeling rushed.

YOU DO NOT HAVE TO FIT THE PROGRAM
The Program Should
Fit the Person.

Exercises can be progressed, regressed, or changed around ability, experience, limitations, and goals. Coaching is not about forcing everyone through the same template.

TRAINING OPTIONS

Different Ways to Do the Work.

You do not need to know the terminology before you start. What matters is matching the training structure to the goal and the person.

02 Choosing the Right Training

Personal training is individualized coaching built around your specific goals, history, and needs. Group training gives you coached sessions with a shared class structure and built-in community.

Open gym is different: it gives eligible members access to train independently during designated hours. Some people use one option; others combine them.

Yes. A movement can often be progressed, regressed, loaded differently, or substituted depending on your ability, experience, limitations, and goals.

A good modification should still train the quality we are after while giving you an appropriate challenge. It is not about making the workout “easier”; it is about making it useful.

Yes. P.I.T. offers options beyond general fitness, including sports training, Olympic lifting, bone-health training, motocross training, personal training, and nutrition/supplement consultation.

The right choice depends on what you are preparing for and how specific the coaching needs to become.

Nutrition support is available as its own consultation option and may also be discussed as part of certain coaching relationships.

The emphasis is practical: eating and habits that support the training goal and can actually survive real life, rather than a short-lived set of impossible rules.

Tell your coach before training begins. Programming can often be modified around limitations, previous injuries, surgeries, or movement concerns.

P.I.T. does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, so when something falls outside the coach’s scope you may be asked to get clearance or guidance from the appropriate healthcare provider first.

That is completely normal. You are not expected to diagnose your own training needs from a list of services on a website.

Tell us the outcome you want, what has or has not worked before, and what your availability looks like. We can help narrow the options from there.

COACHING + ACCESS
Your Access Depends on Your Plan.

Some people need open-gym access. Some want coached classes. Others need one-on-one sessions. Those benefits can be separate, so the right membership is the one that matches how you actually plan to train.

MEMBERSHIP + SCHEDULING

Know What You’re Signing Up For.

Access, classes, coaching, and scheduling can work differently depending on the plan. These answers cover the basics without locking the page to prices or times that may change.

03 Membership, Access + Scheduling

It depends on the option you choose. Open gym, group training, personal training, and specialized programs can have different access and purchase structures.

The current Pricing & Packages page is the best place to compare options, or you can contact us and tell us how you actually want to use the gym.

That depends on your goal, current training level, schedule, recovery, and the type of program you are following.

More is not automatically better. A schedule you can recover from and repeat consistently usually matters more than trying to cram in as much work as possible.

Use the current Calendar page for posted class times and gym availability. Schedules can change with programming, holidays, events, or facility needs.

The live calendar is a better source than an old screenshot, social post, or saved schedule.

Open gym means independent facility access during the times included with your plan. Class access means participation in coached group sessions.

Those are separate benefits, so someone can have one without necessarily having unlimited access to the other. Your account should reflect exactly what your plan includes.

Membership, package, and booking terms can vary by product. Check your account and the policy attached to the option you purchased.

If you are unsure how a cancellation, renewal, package balance, or change applies to you, contact P.I.T. before making assumptions. We would rather clarify it.

Wear comfortable athletic clothing and training shoes, bring water, and arrive ready to ask questions.

If your program requires something more specific, your coach will tell you ahead of time. You do not need to show up with a bag full of specialized gear just to begin.

Yes. P.I.T. is located at 590 S St Marys St, St Marys, PA 15857.

Reach out before your visit and we can help you find a good time to stop in, look around, and talk through the training options that fit what you are looking for.
