BEFORE THE FIRE

P.I.T. Was Becoming a Home.

The gym did not begin with a building. It began with coaching, borrowed space, reinvested equipment, and a growing group of people who believed in the work.

2013

P.I.T. BEGINS

Physical Industry Training was established May 15, 2013. The original goal was simple: help people become healthier, happier, and stronger through better coaching.

2014

A HOME BASE FORMS

A local team opened auxiliary gym space to Nick for training and equipment storage. It became P.I.T.’s first real home base as income was reinvested into more equipment and Tom joined the effort.

THE MOVE-IN

After receiving approval for a larger facility in late December, the equipment and training files were moved in. The next chapter was ready to begin.

THE CALL

Less than a day later, the call came that the building was engulfed in flames. Everything that had just been moved in was now inside the fire.

BEFORE THE DOORS COULD OPEN, EVERYTHING CHANGED.

One Day In.
Then Everything Changed.

On January 1, 2015, Nick and Tom finished moving P.I.T.’s equipment and training files into the larger facility they had been preparing to make their new home. Less than a day later, at roughly 2:30 in the morning, the phone rang: the building was engulfed in flames.

Fire crews from around the region responded and the fire continued into the late morning. The loss was bigger than equipment. Years of work, records, momentum, and the physical home of a growing fitness community were suddenly gone.

Investigators later determined that someone had broken into the building and intentionally set the fire. Police soon had a suspect in custody. For Nick and Tom, the shock of learning the fire was deliberate made an already devastating loss even harder to process.

But the response became part of P.I.T.’s identity. The same qualities coached every day — patience, discipline, determination, resilience, and purposeful progress — became the plan for rebuilding.

The current gym is not simply what replaced the building that burned. It is what grew out of the decision to keep going.

BUILT BACK STRONGER

History Lives in the Room.

The gym that exists today is not simply a replacement for what was lost. It is the next chapter of the same idea: create a place where people can do meaningful work, be coached well, and keep progressing.

Look closer and the years are everywhere: medals earned, equipment used, whiteboards rewritten, surfaces worn in, and details that only exist because people kept showing up.

The room is not decorated with history. It has accumulated it.

A Training Floor Designed to Work.

Open space where it matters. Strength equipment where it belongs. Enough room for coaching, lifting, conditioning, movement, and multiple kinds of training to happen without the room feeling like a maze of machines.

BUILT AROUND THE WORK.

CONDITIONING

NOT A SHOWROOM. A WORKING GYM.

Equipment With a Job to Do.

P.I.T. combines free weights, racks and barbell stations, open training space, conditioning equipment, and mobility/accessory tools so training can be adapted to the person instead of forcing the person into one style of workout.

The equipment supports the program. It does not replace the coaching.

LOAD + STRENGTH

Progressive resistance, foundational lifting, and strength development.

CONDITIONING

Tools that build work capacity, endurance, and athletic readiness.

MOVEMENT + MOBILITY

Space and accessories for better movement, warm-ups, recovery, and control.

OPEN TRAINING SPACE

Room for carries, movement work, coaching, and training that does not belong in a machine.

COACHING LIVES IN THE ROOM

The Equipment Is Only Part of It.

Programming happens here. Adjustments happen here. Coaches watch the work, change the plan, and help people progress from where they actually are.

A good facility creates options. Good coaching decides how to use them.

Meet the Coaches

One Room. Very Different People.

The same floor can support an athlete building power, an older adult rebuilding strength, someone training independently, or someone walking into a gym for the first time.
